Tehran University of Medical Sciences

The Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) was founded in 1851 as Dar-ol-Fonoon and is Iran's oldest medical center. It is one of the most prestigious medical sciences universities in the region, with a history dating back more than 160 years. It brings together a community of teachers, students, and staff who educate, do research and lead public service efforts in Iran. It focuses on developing novel remedies for a wide range of medical concerns affecting the community's health and well-being.

TUMS alumni and professional schools demonstrate the university's commitment to research, high standards, and innovative knowledge application. Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC) has designated TUMS as a "top university."

TUMS is made up of 12 Schools, over 80 research centers, 15 scientific pivots, nine educational and health research stations spread over nine provinces, five technological incubator centers, 16 hospitals with 7,000 active beds, and 44 libraries. It provides specialized undergraduate and graduate programs.
