The Addams Family
The Addams Family is an American macabre/black comedy sitcom based on Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoon characters. The Addamses are a satirical parody of the perfect 20th-century American family: a strange affluent aristocratic clan that relishes in the macabre and appear blissfully uninformed or bothered that others find them strange or terrifying.
David Levy and Donald Saltzman created and developed the 30-minute television series, which was shot in black-and-white and shown on ABC for two seasons from September 18, 1964, to April 8, 1966, for a total of 64 episodes. Head writer Nat Perrin produced the show for Filmways, Inc. at General Service Studios in Hollywood, California. The series is now owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
