The Japanese colonial authority has accused Korean police captain Lee Jung-chool of tracking down members of the country's resistance movement. But, while Lee has a history of betraying his own people in order to gain favor with the Japanese, the murder of Kim Jang-ok, a former classmate and resistance fighter, has affected him harder than normal. Che-san, the resistance's commander, thinks that if addressed and treated properly, this traitor will be turned once more — this time in their favor. So starts a gradual, coded psychological dance between Lee and a major resistance figure called Kim Woo-jin (Gong Yoo), whose antique shop serves as a front for a conspiracy to transport bombs into Seoul from Shanghai.
