The Suspect (2013)

The Suspect is a 2013 South Korean action thriller film starring Gong Yoo, and directed by Won Shin-yun. Gong Yoo is Ji Dong-cheol, a former highly ranked North Korean spy turned defector investigating the murder of his family and accused of the murder of a business executive.

Dong Chul was North Korea's top special field agent, but he was abandoned by his country on a mission. While fleeing, he searches for his wife and kids, who were sold as slaves to China, only to find their bodies. He quickly discovers that his colleague was responsible for the murder and defects to the South in quest of his adversary. He searches for him throughout the day and works as a temp driver and personal driver for chairman Park at night. An assassin attacks and kills the chairman one night, but not before passing over a pair of spectacles to Dong Chul. He is now on the run again, accused of the chairman’s murder by the intelligence service, while trying to uncover the secret contained inside the glasses.
