The Avengers (2012)

The Avengers, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, is a 2012 American superhero film. It is the sixth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (MCU). The film revolves around Earth's greatest heroes are trying to stop Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity, they must come together and learn to fight as a team.

Whedon's directing and script, visual effects, action sequences, acting, and musical soundtrack all gained critical acclaim, and the film got multiple accolades and nominations, including Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for visual effects. The film broke multiple box office records, including being the third-highest-grossing film of all time and the highest-grossing film of 2012 at the time of its release, as well as the first Marvel movie to generate $1 billion in ticket sales.
