Thor (2011)
Thor is a 2011 American superhero film based on the same-named Marvel Comics character. It is the fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and released by Paramount Pictures (MCU). The film follows Thor, the strong but arrogant god, who is exiled from Asgard to live among mortals in Midgard (Earth), where he rapidly positions himself as one of their most capable defenders.
The film was a box office hit, grossing $449.3 million worldwide. The performances, characters, themes, and spectacular effects were all acclaimed by critics, but the plot was criticized. Thor: The Dark World (2013) and Thor: Ragnarok (2013) are the two sequels that have been released (2017). Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth film in the series, will be released in July 2022.
