The Harvey School
The Harvey School is a co-educational, college preparatory school located near Katonah, New York. It serves students in grades 6 through 12 and was founded in 1916 by Dr. Herbert Carter, a pediatrician. Dr. Carter wanted to create a country environment and educational program for his physically handicapped son, Herbert Swift Carter, Jr. The school is named after Sir William Harvey, a 17th-century physician who is known for his contributions to modern medical science.
At The Harvey School, students have a wide range of academic opportunities available to them. They can take Advanced Placement courses, benefit from technology integration, and follow science trajectories. The school also places a strong emphasis on the arts, offering programs in music, dance, theater, fine arts, and digital arts. The campus spans 125 acres and boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including the Walker Center for the Arts and the Evarts Rink. The school also offers an optional five-day boarding program for grades 9 to 12 and an international program that attracts students from around the world.
