The Night Eats the World

The Night Eats the World is a French zombie film directed by Dominique Rocher and written by Jérémie Guez, Guillaume Lemans, and Rocher. It is based on Pit Agarman's novel of the same name. Anders Danielsen Lie, Golshifteh Farahani, and Denis Lavant appear in the film, which follows Sam (Danielsen Lie) through a zombie apocalypse that sweeps over Paris. On January 13, 2018, the film premiered at the Angers Film Festival, and on March 7, 2018, it was released theatrically in France.

There's nothing quite like crashing a party by accident and waking up alone in a world overrun with zombies. That's what happens to musician Sam, who goes to get his tapes from his ex-girlfriend, only to discover she's entertaining a few pals. After being accidentally punched in the face by a partygoer, Sam falls asleep, and when he wakes up, his flat is a gory mess, and his ex is a zombie. "The Night Eats the World" prefers turbo-zombies a la "28 Days Later," and these beasts don't even make a sound. Sam's loneliness is driving him insane, but is he truly the only survivor? And if he doesn't, how will he find others if he's frightened to leave the protection of his home?
