Toledo Chocolate Festival
After you've had your fill of cashews, travel to Punta Gorda's Toledo Chocolate Festival. This yearly festival celebrates the world's favorite Belizean delicacy: chocolate. Visitors may sample chocolate bars, truffles, hot cocoa, and even chocolate-infused beer, as well as tour chocolate farms, learn about the chocolate-making process, and purchase chocolate-themed gifts.
Aside from the cuisine and chocolate-related things, the festival is a perfect opportunity to take a trip by kayak or canoe along nearby rivers to appreciate the Toledo District's pure natural beauty.
A street fair downtown Punta Gorda on the second day of the event contains art exhibitions, music, and a broad range of local delicacies. The Toledo Chocolate Festival concludes with a Grand Finale in which several musical ensembles compete for the title of grand prize winner. For the kids, there are face-painting, puppet shows, and jewelry-making activities.
