Train to Busan

The 2016 zombie film Train to Busan has established itself as a classic in Kim Chi cinema. With its graphic imagery and thrilling chases, "The Walking Dead" has become a familiar topic to viewers of the seventh art. However, Train To Busan also astonishes audiences with nuances that will make you cry about compassion and sacrifice in disasters, in addition to those well-known "survival" components.

Several high school students, a couple expecting their first child, a father and daughter, and others may be seen on the motorway connecting Seoul to Busan. The 453 kilometer trek from Seoul to the Seoul Busan safe zone was unexpectedly transformed into a struggle for survival when the pandemic broke out. To be able to return to Busan securely and survive, they had to go through tense situations where they had to battle for every second. Each showing of the movie draws viewers in with each moment that almost breaks their hearts and makes them wish that the train will arrive at a safe location soon.

More than we may realize, Train to Busan carries tremendous significance. When the movie ends, we don't instantly picture a lovely resolution where the door to "survival" has finally opened for us. But the really harsh fact is that if those frenzied zombies hadn't died, would they have survived the individuality of other customers? How may someone hurt someone else for their personal gain?
