In Ode to My Father - one of the saddest Korean movies, a magnificent period of Korean history is evoked in the worst possible ways. The evacuation of Hungnam in 1950, which took place during the Korean War, saw the US Navy save the evacuees. At that time, the main character Duk-soo (Hwang Jung-min) promised his father that he would defend his family in accordance with Korean tradition.
Duk-soo has experienced a lot of adversity and bad luck in his life. To maintain his word, he must overcome several obstacles. Duk-soo, who experiences the dissolution of his family during the enormous migration of families from the north to the US-controlled south during the Korean War in 1950, is the perfect example of all of this.
He worked for periods of time in war-torn Vietnam in the 1970s to pay for his sister's wedding and in German coal mines in the 1960s to pay for his brother's graduation expenses. He finally embarks on his arduous search for his sister and father throughout the 1980s.
The entire movie is an emotional journey, and the scene in which Duk-soo and his family are reunited with his long-lost sister Mak-soon through a nationwide television program intended to bring together families split by the North-South division is the watershed moment.Release date: 17 December 2014

Hope is built based on a true case that once shocked Korea. The eight-year-old girl So-won is the focus of the movie's plot. Innocent, carefree, and loved by my family, I go to school and return home every day, much like many of my classmates, so I am quite happy. However, a significant occurrence has altered everything. I absolutely changed after that.
It rained that day, just like it did every day when she went to school, but on the way there she encountered a middle-aged guy who asked to borrow her umbrella, so she gave it to him. He brought her to an abandoned bathroom where he committed the horrible deed that would permanently alter her life.
She was brought to the hospital while comatose and unconscious, with huge and little bruises alternately covering her body and bleeding, swollen cuts on her face. When they saw the tragic scenario, her parents passed out. Her mother sobbed uncontrollably and remarked, "There are so many children in the world. Why is my daughter forced to endure this?
Because he has to be strong to be with her mother and because he doesn't want her mother to suffer any longer, her father, who is incredibly devastated, nonetheless attempts to control his tears. There were times when I broke down and sobbed, so I had to hide in a secret place to prevent others from seeing, work to dry my eyes, and then pick the appropriate path back to reality. signed a document committing herself to having surgery since her organs are all significantly injured and she will no longer be able to use the restroom as she normally would. That incident will remain etched in her mind forever, plaguing her mentality even as she grows up.

Be With You is based on Takuji Ichikawa's love book of the same name, and it follows the lives of Ji Ho (Kim Ji Hwan) and Woo-jin (So Ji-Sub), a father and son.
The narrative of And I'll Come, one of Japan's most popular love stories that has been adapted for movies, TV shows, and plays, is enough to shock even crowds. The most convincing fake, providing information on Woo-jin's family sentiments and his love for his wife Soo A.
A man like Woo-jin who is committed to his family stands out in a sea of icy male leads and rebellious characters in current Korean dramas. It will let the viewers connect with the character's circumstance of "rooster raising children" and empathize with it more. The movie's scriptwriter also made a wonderful job when adapting by including hilarious aspects, which helped to lighten the work's weight relative to the original Japanese picture.
And I Will Come utterly lacks any important innovations or inventiveness, especially in the areas of picture and sound. Don't, however, assume that this will be the movie's weak spot. The outdoor sequences will always be the most beautiful ones in the Korean countryside, despite the fact that it still uses the traditional "exercises" of Korean films, such the romantic, lyrical background music and the frames with vivid colors and a hint of dream... Not to add the slo-mo moment anytime the male protagonist displays loving or protective behavior toward the female character. It's true that the aforementioned elements all have pretty cliche sounds.

A tragicomedy drama movie from 2013 in South Korea, Miracle in Cell No. 7 features Ryu Seung-Yong, Kal So-won, and Park Shin-hye. In the movie, a developmentally handicapped man who was wrongly convicted of murder forges bonds with the hardcore criminals who share his cell and they in turn let him see his daughter again by sneaking her into the jail.
The film is based on the true account of a man who, after being tortured, confessed under pressure to the rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl in Chuncheon on September 27, 1972, until being eventually cleared of all charges in November 2008.
A father who is mentally challenged raises his daughter with love and devotion. He unintentionally contributes to a child's death and is subsequently detained on trumped-up allegations of rape and murder. He ends himself in cell room number 7, where he meets five other prisoners who assist him in getting back in touch with his daughter.
He made acquaintances with other prisoners here. Although it's against the rules for family members to visit prisoners, the convicts came up with a strategy to bring the father's little daughter to the facility since he misses and worries about her. She is a brilliant, intelligent, incredibly loved, and courteous youngster, in contrast to her father. The days in the jail are nicer and brighter because of her. From this point on, the humorous incidents occurred, but by the time the audience viewed the entire movie, even the hardest person was unable to control their emotions.

A Korean ghost comedy called Hello Ghost was made in 2010 under the direction of Kim Young-Tak. The major element that helps to accurately represent the dark corners of a young guy who is yearning for life and the holy sentiments of family love is actor Cha Tae Hyun's transforming performance.
Sang-Man's road to death is chronicled in Hello Ghost. Sang-Man attempted suicide five or seven times but was unsuccessful each time. Sang-Man was suddenly able to see ghosts and was being harassed by four spirits of unknown origin out of rage at being unable to die. The path of satisfying the wishes of the four ghosts helped Sang-Man uncover numerous difficulties in the past as well as philosophies about family love. From here, a succession of troubles transpired to him. centered on the persona of Yun-soo, whom Sang-Man adores.
The director of Hello Ghost depicts nurse Yun-soo's bitterness against her father Yoo-hwan following the loss of her mother. Every time Yun-soo witnesses Mr. Yoo-hwan gaming with a group of pals, resentment usually bubbles up. Although her father cared for her and paid attention to every tiny detail of her as a youngster, Yun-soo did not even say a kind word of hello to him. Only hatred and wrath for the person who was mostly responsible for Yun-soo's mother's passing exist in her heart. Even in his latter days, Mr. Yoo-hwan continued to hear solely his daughter's previous criticism. Then, Yun-soo sat in front of the picture on the day her father passed away while crying in two lines.

The 110-minute film On Your Wedding Day, directed by Lee Seok Geun, stars Park Bo Young and Kim Young Kwang as the male and female characters, respectively. A lot of people have come to the theater to watch the movie since it officially began on September 7 because to the emotive and compelling footage that doesn't squander the romantic section.
Beginning with really cute and hilarious elements, the movie goes on to explain the interesting sensations of puberty, the early sentiments of students or simply friendship, and family love. True, you are the most gorgeous during the day.
The phrase "the right person at the wrong time" best sums up the 10 love scenes between Hwan Seung Hee (Park Bo Young) and Hwang Woo-yeon (Kim Young Hwan). Woo-yeon had to explain that Sun Hee, 17, slipped into a "love net" that he was unable to escape when they first met in the teacher's office. Woo-yeon approaches his "target" Hwan Seung Hee by watching, following, chatting with friends, getting to know each other, and skipping school together. Seung Hee must have been affected by Woo-yeon that year, regardless of how difficult it may be to believe, if the incident had not included her and her mother.
It's terrible that Seung Hee still just views Woo Yeon as a close friend after all of his efforts and deployment. The day they reconnected, the boy's mental state was unharmed, but he merely stood tall and watched her from a distance while comparing her to her skilled and well-known lover. The wedding ceremony has been planned, the invitation card is on the table, and the little Hwan Seung Hee and Woo-yeon, who skips school every day to eat spicy cotton cake, will transform into a stunning bride wearing a snow-white bridal gown. It’s easy to at first dismiss writer-director Jo Sung-hee‘s A Werewolf Boy critically and commercially successful 2012 film avoid the list of saddest Korean movies. It's possible to mistake this romance-fantasy hybrid movie for South Korea's effort to cash in on the Twilight franchise's popularity. A Werewolf Boy, however, demonstrates that it is more than what it first looks to be and is a superb work of narrative in its own right.'
Director Jo Sung-hee's film does not take the werewolf topic in an action or horror direction. Instead, this is the love tale of Sun-yi, a werewolf played by Song Joong Ki, and Park Bo Young's daughter. Sun-yi's family stumbled upon a weird youngster with a wild lifestyle who could not even communicate in a human language. They accepted the boy as a member of the family rather than feeling afraid or abandoned.
Slowly, the wild innocence of the werewolf (called Chul-soo) won over Sun-yi's introverted heart. A sincere, selfless love developed between him and his mistress, encouraged by the lovely childhood memories. Additionally, Sun-yi painstakingly teaches him social customs to assist Chul-sooo adjust to life. The youngster still had a wild animal's nature, though. Chul-soo changed into a wolf to attack the young master Ji Tae (Yoo Yeon Seok) when she observed him mistreating Su Ni. The boy's true identity frightened the villagers, and in the end Sun-yi had to send him away with a promise: "Wait for me, I will come back to you."
After then, Sun-yi's family also relocated, and she didn't go back to her former house for another 47 years. Unexpectedly, the werewolf was still loyal and standing at the old home to meet her. Chul-soo is still only a werewolf lad in her twenties, whereas Sun-yi is now a 70-year-old woman who has walked her entire life. The moment of the two's reunion was simple and pleasant, and the audience's hearts were brimming with emotion when Chul-soo pulled out the old piece of paper and lowered his head to wait.

Doh Kyung-soo and Kim So-hyun feature in the 2016 South Korean romantic drama Pure Love, which was distributed outside under the title Unforgettable.
Pure Love, sometimes known as Unforgettable in other countries, is a straightforward but emotionally stirring film. The movie is jam-packed with a compelling narrative, superb performances, and endearing teachings. It was concluded with a charming and depressing story. A poignant lesson-filled movie that will simultaneously break your heart and then repair it. The audience may cry or laugh as a result of it. The movie will leave you empty-handed yet satisfied. An emotional, heartbreaking, and profoundly moving film! It definitely lived up to its moniker; it is a work of beauty to remember!
The premise is straightforward, yet it didn't stop this movie from being one of the finest Korean movies. Instead, it turned into its ace, making it exceptional. I have no clue how the narrative will turn out. Yes, it was straightforward, but it was also mysterious. I initially assumed it would simply describe the romance between Beom Sil and Seo Ok and any potential love triangle they could have with San Dol (Yeon Joon Seok) or Young Il (Kim Kwon), but to my surprise, the plot developed significantly.
