University of Manchester
The University of Manchester is a public comprehensive research university in the city of Manchester, established in 2004 on the merger of two previously existing universities, UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology), and Victoria University of Manchester.
The University of Manchester is also the owner and operator of major cultural facilities in Manchester such as the Manchester Museum, the Whitworth Art Museum, the John Rylands Library and the Jodrell Bank Observatory with the Lovell radio telescope.
