University of Nigeria Nsukka

The University of Nigeria Nsukka is a federal university in Nigeria's Enugu state. Nnamdi Azikiwe (governor-general of Nigeria from 1960 to 1963) formed the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). Nigeria's first president, from 1963 to 1966) was inaugurated in 1955 and fully opened in 1960.

For a student population of almost 36,000, UNN oversees 102 academic departments in 15 faculties and provides 82 undergraduate and 211 graduate programs. This is the situation on four campuses: Nsukka, Campus Enugu (UNEC), University Hospital of Nigeria (UNTH) in Ituku-Ozalla, and the University of Nigeria Aba campus (UNAC). The UNN has a business school as well.

Agriculture, Arts, Biological Sciences, Education, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine are all housed on the Nsukka campus. Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Law, and Medical Sciences are among the faculties of Enugu, which was once known as the Nigerian College of Arts, Science, and Technology (UNEC).

The Faculty of Dentistry of Health Sciences and Technology is housed inside the University Hospital (UNTH). Finally, the Nigerian Language Institute is located on the UNAC Aba campus.

The research is carried out in institutions of African studies, education, development, postgraduate studies, and phytotherapy and medical research and development. Climate change, space science, and energy studies have all been given their own centers.

Many officials, including governors, senators, and ministers from the Nigerian and other African governments, as well as academics, businesspeople, artists, and performers, are members of the UNN.

Its mission is to be in the forefront of academic research and development, innovation, information transfer, and human resource development around the world, all while promoting the fundamental ideas that will restore man's dignity. In the World University Rankings 2022, it is rated 1001+.
