Varna
Varna is the largest city in Bulgaria on the Black Sea coast. It is also the third-largest city in Bulgaria, after Sofia and Plovdiv, in terms of population. As a result, this Bulgaria beach town is also known as the Sea Capital or Summer Capital of Bulgaria. Varna is an important tourist and educational center, having been named European Youth Capital in 2017. Aside from its vibrant cultural life, Varna offers visitors an intriguing collection of museums, including the 2000 sqm Archeological Museum, the Naval Museum, the History Museum, the Renaissance Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, and the Natural History Museum. While the Doll Museum and the Medical History Museum are more interesting for a specific niche, you should also consider visiting them.
Don't forget to visit the Varna Necropolis, which has the world's largest gold thesaurus! Pobiti Kamani, also known as The Stone Desert, is located not far from Varna. Bulgaria's only desert, which covers an area of 13 square kilometers, is made up of sand dunes and groups of natural rock formations that are hard on the outside but hollow and filled with sand on the inside. These rocks can grow to heights of up to 7 meters and have diameters of up to 3 meters. Pobiti Kamani, a one-of-a-kind phenomenon in Bulgaria, should be on your itinerary if you visit the country's seaside!
