Wildensteiner Waterfall
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Austria is Wildensteiner Wasserfall located in Kärnten, Austria, south of Wildenstein (Gallizien). In close proximity to Klagenfurt is the Wildensteiner Wasserfall. Drive east across Road 70 from Klagenfurt to Grafenstein and Gallizien. Take road 85 further on to Wildenstein. Take the Wildensteiner wasserfall exit to go to Wildenstein.
A little cave below the waterfall offers a fantastic photo opportunity of the Wildensteiner Wasserfall. The Wildensteiner waterfall is best visited early in the day. The Wildensteiner waterfall is north-northeast facing, therefore it will be shaded for the majority of the day.
The Wildensteiner waterfall is named after the "Wildenstein" ruin that is located above the waterfall. It was originally a lovely castle, but it was destroyed following an earthquake in 1348. Despite being one of the highest single-drop waterfalls in the Kärnten region, the Wildensteiner waterfall is still not well known to tourists.
