Zamboanga
Zamboanga, a city where Christian and Muslim traditions collide, has something to offer every kind of traveler. It is also known as the City of Flowers and is the location of Merloquet Falls and Sta. Cruz, a lovely beach with rosy tones. Not a big fan of nature? Its parks give beautiful views: Paseo del Mar is to Zamboanga as Roxas Boulevard is to Manila, and RT Lim Boulevard has a sunset that can compete with Manila Bay. Visit the Yakan Village if you're visiting primarily for the history of things.
The Pink and White Sand Beaches on the Great and Little Santa Cruz Islands, respectively, are among the best beaches in the nation and this city, respectively. There is no comparison to the exquisitely beautiful "pinkish" sand (a coloration effect of pulverized rare red Organ-pipe Coral (tubipora musica) from ages of surf erosion mixed in with the white sand) and colorful coral reef just a few feet from the shore of the Great Santa Cruz Island in its perfect natural state. One of the very few pink sand beaches in the world can be found on Great Santa Cruz Island. The unusual pink sand beach extends for more than three kilometres around the lovely island.
