Mr. Robinson was designated one of the top ten "Most Influential Lawyers in California" by California Law Business in 2001. He was elected President of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), which was originally known as the California Trial Lawyers Association, in 1999. Mr. Robinson was named "Personal Injury Trial Lawyer of the Year" by the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association in 1996 and 1978.

He has served on the boards of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) [now the American Association for Justice (AAJ)], the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the International Society of Barristers. He is one of the Attorney Information Exchange Group's five founders (AIEG). He has served as President of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and the Orange County Bar Association Charitable Fund in 2001.
