Mark Lanier

Mark Lanier, an attorney, author, teacher, pastor, and expert story teller, is no stranger to public platform. Mark has garnered international acclaim as one of the finest trial attorneys in the United States since founding The Lanier Law Firm in 1990, with offices in Houston, New York, and Los Angeles supporting his work for clients across the country.

Mark has extensive and varied courtroom experience, including: A federal jury in Dallas voted in favor of his clients in a products liability case involving defective hip implants against defendant DePuy Orthopaedics Inc., a subsidiary of health care behemoth Johnson & Johnson, in March 2016. In April 2014, Mark won another high-profile case against Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. and Eli Lilly & Co. over the diabetic medicine Actos.

Mark followed up his world-record Vioxx verdict with two more significant Vioxx trial victories. In a fraudulent promotion action against one of the world's major distributors of artificial sweeteners, he achieved a precedent-setting settlement for a national sugar association trade group and some of the largest U.S. sugar manufacturers. He was also responsible for a large settlement for syringe producer Retractable Technologies in an antitrust dispute against Becton Dickinson & Company, which was the inspiration for the Chris Evans film "Puncture." His verdict on behalf of 21 asbestos plaintiffs is one of the greatest asbestos liability awards ever made in the United States. In a dispute over unpaid bonuses relating to the sale of an Ingersoll Rand subsidiary, Mark also achieved a settlement for 130 Ingersoll Rand Plc employees.
