Proyectos Monclova debuted in 2005 and immediately established itself as Mexico City's foremost place for modern Mexican art. Teófilo Cohen, Polina Stroganova, and David Trabulsi, gallery partners, welcomed new foreign artists to the program after ten years of creating a strong local presence to encourage discussion between Mexican and international artists. If Proyectos Monclova is anything to go by, a renovated pool hall makes for a great art gallery. This huge room presently houses a delightful mix of local and foreign artworks that changes on a regular basis.

While the gallery agreed to continue working with contemporary Mexican artists using the same practices that had brought it success in the previous ten years, Proyectos Monclova worked with Artsy to alter its marketing and sales strategies to meet the enlarged focus of its exhibition program. This tiny, modern art gallery on a residential street near Chapultepec Park, which opened in the late 1990s, hosts exhibitions in one large, warehouse-style room. Mónica Manzutto and José Kuri, art dealers, founded Kurimanzutto to exhibit both Mexican and foreign modern artists. The Kurimanzutto art gallery, which has an utterly non-Mexican-sounding name, has grown in popularity and is now a strong favorite among contemporary art fans in Mexico City. Kurimanzutto is located in a restored location in San Miguel Chapultepec, one of Mexico City's nicest districts, and is known globally for its inclination to support Mexican artists. It's a must-see in CDMX since it's always putting innovation first.

Exhibits rotate often and include a wide range of topics, however the majority center on a particular artist. The gallery has represented international artists such as Gabriel Orozco, Damián Ortega, Gabriel Kuri, Abraham Cruzvillegas, and Dr. Lakra, whose work is profoundly tied to Mexico's history and culture (Orozco, for example, recently exhibited at Art Basel Hong Kong). The displays here are exquisitely curated and well-thought-out. Depending on how the show uses the space, the gallery is tiny and handicap accessible.

Patricia Ortiz Monasterio and Jaime Riestra, the firm's principals, launched OMR in 1983. The gallery is located in Mexico City's Roma quarter, which is now known as the city's primary art scene region. The Observer wrote in August 2019 that OMR is "one of the city’s longest-running and largest blue-chip galleries" and noted that the majority of their buyers are "foreign collectors".

The gallery promotes both new and established contemporary artists, and it is the exclusive representative of Adolfo Riestra, Luis Ortiz Monasterio, and Alberto Gironella's estates. Since its inception, OMR has had a significant impact on the arts in Mexico, exhibiting avant-garde artists who have since become some of the Mexican art scene's pivotal figures. It rounds off its collection of the best art galleries in Mexico City with one of the most up-and-coming contemporary galleries on the scene: House of Gaga. It was founded in 2008 by Fernando Mesta and seems to show anything it can get away with, all with ease and panache that seems effortless.

The Condesa gallery is modest and relatively plain, but what it lacks in architectural design it makes up for in daring and in the names of the artists it represents, which range from Mathieu Malouf to Anna Udenberg. Their selection includes both foreign and local work, as well as established and upcoming artists. Call ahead to ensure there is a show on. House of Gaga is rapidly acquiring national and international fame; the willingness to take risks here is paying off. Their displays, which include works by Sam Pulitzer and Karl Holmqvist, are surprising, weird, and hip all at the same time.

Galeria Luis Adelantado is a 37-year-old Private Gallery specializing in Painting and Conceptual Art. Galeria Luis Adelantado took part in 87 art fairs in Brussels, Madrid, and other cities. Galeria Luis Adelantado's first participation in a fair was at Art Cologne 1990 in Cologne in 1990.

Galera Luis Adelantado, located in Polanco's art district (between the Jumex and Soumaya museums), promotes known painters such as Ferrán Garcia Sevilla, Carmen Calvo, and Martha Mara Pérez Bravo, as well as emerging Mexican artists.
