  1. Before the zombie genre became the omnipresent (and toothless) beast that we now face daily, filmmaker Edgar Wright put a darkly comedic perspective on the realm of the undead with Shaun of the Dead. Shaun, now a cult classic, masterfully mixes terror, gross-out comedy, and desert-dry gags for a unique experience.

Wright's skill is that he simulates the shuffling zombie invasion with a tone that is equally lifeless (pan). Of course, Shaun also has some broad physical humor and memorable set pieces that the cast-which includes Simon Pegg and Nick Frost-pulls off flawlessly.

Under Wright's direction, Shaun of the Dead stuffs every scene with so many little, humorous touches that it's difficult to notice them all in a single watching. This is a rare geek favorite that lives up to the hype.

  2. Kung Fu Hustle is a comical take on some of the most famous and well-known martial arts films of all time. Our protagonist Sing, played by writer and director Stephen Chow, is fighting to live an honest life in 1940s China. Sing, on the other hand, is dissatisfied with his status in the world and decides to join the Axe Gang, one of Shanghai's most brutal gangs. Sing is put to the test by the Axe Gang in the film, and he is forced to choose his fate.

Kung Fu Hustle was the largest foreign film in the United States in 2005, and it received a Golden Globe nomination.

Given the film's humorous nature, we've seldom heard reviews this enthusiastic about a movie like Kung Fu Hustle, but we believe the film is more than deserving of that rating. It's fantastic, extremely nice! It's also amusing, especially if you like classic martial arts movies.

The three groomsmen, however, can't remember anything when they wake up the next morning with crushing headaches. Their opulent hotel suite is in shambles, and the groom is nowhere to be seen. 4. Superbad follows two closest friends, Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera), as they make the most of their final days as high school students. This involves utilizing phony IDs to buy booze to create a massive home party that will go down in history. Things take an unpleasant turn when they run across two officers who make it their mission to teach them what a "good time" really looks like. It blends raucous comedy with touching passages about friendship and maturation, which may explain why the film is still popular over 14 years later.

Greg Mottola was in charge of the film's direction (Keeping Up with the Joneses). Rogen collaborated on the script with Evan Goldberg (This Is the End), with executive producers Judd Apatow (Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile), and Shauna Robertson (Pineapple Express).

  5. Kick-Ass is a 2010 action comedy based on the comics by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

Dave Lizewski is a regular high school student and a great admirer of comic books with one burning question: why hasn't anyone ever tried to be a superhero in real life before? After being robbed, the issue becomes an obsession, and he decides to answer it by becoming one himself. He buys a wetsuit and a diving mask and attempts to fight crime.

    It doesn't go so well.

He eventually learns and improves, with a little help from a more experienced pair of vigilantes, a father-daughter duo dedicated to tracking down the Big Bad. Along the way, it manages to demolish almost every superhero stereotype in an attempt to answer the question, "What would happen if someone without special talents sought to be a superhero?".

  6. Zombieland is a 2009 American zombie comedy movie directed by Ruben Fleischer and written through Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The movie follows a geeky university student (Jesse Eisenberg) as he navigates a post-apocalyptic zombie apocalypse, assembly 3 strangers (Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin) alongside the manner and taking a prolonged avenue experience throughout the Southwestern United States on the lookout for a zombie-unfastened sanctuary.

The authors of Zombieland did not "do it first," but they did it very well. Zombieland, like another title on our list, twisted and flipped its own genre on its head. It starred Woody Harrelson in a genuinely career-changing performance.

It also catapulted Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin to fame. The appearance by Bill Murray, on the other hand, was the moment that really made this picture. It was maybe the best cinematic sequence in any zombie film ever.
