Borat (2006)
"Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" (or just Borat) is a mockumentary film directed by Larry Charles and starring Sacha Baron Cohen that was released in 2006. Baron Cohen plays Borat Sagdiyev, a fake Kazakhstani journalist who goes to the United States to produce a documentary that includes real-life encounters with Americans. Borat interviews and interacts with real-life Americans who presume he is a foreigner with little or no understanding of American culture for most of the film.
"Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" received critical and commercial acclaim; it cost $18 million to produce and earned $262 million worldwide.
