Be With You

"Be With You", one of the most recent K Movies on this list, is an approved remake of a Japanese film of the same name. "Be With You", starring Son Ye-jin, one of the best South Korean actresses working today, is an absurd narrative story about Soo-ah, who, on her deathbed, makes a promise to her husband Woo-jin to return to him a year later on a rainy day. A year later, while Woo-jin hasn't forgotten her pledge, he still has to look after his kid Ji-ho and go about his daily life.

Soo-ah returns to her family, as promised, but she has little memory of them, which is both heartbreaking and problematic. "Be With You" features more fantasy components than romance, although it doesn't rely on the fantasy element for long and moves along quickly. This movie is a great marriage of Japanese narrative and Korean filming style.
