A Moment to Remember
"A Moment to Remember", the epitome of Korean romance movies and one of the best Korean movies to date, is a deeply touching love story centered on Su-jin, a fashion designer and the daughter of a construction company's CEO, and Chul-soo, a construction worker who works as a contract laborer at Su-jin father's company.
Su-jin is enamored by Chul-soo's masculinity and they marry, despite the fact that Chul-soo intends to be an architect one day. Su-jin's amnesia progresses to Alzheimer's disease, and Chul-soo's life comes crashing down since the lady he loves no longer remembers him. It's a straightforward story told with love, and John H. Lee's direction is endearingly straightforward yet profoundly poignant. Jung Woo-sung and Son Ye-jin are genuinely outstanding in their parts, delivering performances of incredible depth and emotional complexity. The film was based on the Japanese television drama "Pure Soul" and it has since inspired countless remakes.
