  2. The Central Forest Reserve National Park is the next name on the list of the best places in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Saint Kitts is recognized for its azure oceans and fine sand beaches, but it is also known for its lush central mountain chain, which reaches about 4,000 feet and is almost entirely covered in healthy rainforest. To safeguard the majority of the island's rainforest, all areas above 1,000 feet were declared a national forest reserve. Scientists have classified the area as an American Oceanic Rainforest, one of the world's rarest types of forest, and it is expanding rather than diminishing, as is the case in most of the world.

Many routes wind through the lush forests beneath the canopy of ancient trees, rich in flowers and the sounds of the fauna that flourishes in this magnificent habitat. If you find it interesting, do not forget to pay a visit to the Central Forest Reserve National Park when visiting Saint Kitts and Nevis.

  6. Most island trips include a visit to Romney Manor, where you may easily spend several hours viewing the numerous sights and attractions. Romney Manor is the great house of the Wingfield Estate sugar plantation owners in downtown Basseterre. The Caribelle Batik store and workshop has owned the mansion since 1964, and it is one of the town's most popular tourist attractions. The Caribelle team demonstrates the batik process to tourists and sells their gorgeous items, which range from clothing to gifts and accessories.

The former manor's garden is a horticulturist's dream, with a 350-year-old raintree as the focal point and a bell tower that was once used to keep an eye on slaves. 7. Independence Square, or Pall Mall Square, as it was previously known, is located in the eastern portion of Basseterre, near Newtown, and was renamed on September 19, 1983, to commemorate the establishment of the nation of St. Christopher and Nevis. Only a handful of the old houses around the square, such as the public library and the courthouse, have survived. The space on which the square now stands was once a pasture, then a slave market where slaves sold their produce and socialized, and finally a parade field and a location for the militia to conduct maneuvers.

The Commissioners for the Supply of Water began improving Pall Mall Square in 1855, including the construction of a lovely fountain surrounded by flowering plants. The square became a popular area to live in, and many renowned people, like Doris Wall, Sir Maurice Davis, and Professor Bryan King, have called it home. Locals and visitors alike love relaxing under the trees in today's Independence Square, which hosts a variety of cultural activities.

  8. Spooner's Ginnery is the next name on the list of the best places in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Spooner's Estate, which is located on the outskirts of Cayon, is in many ways the tale of St. Kitts and its changing industries. Spooner's Estate is a historic cotton and sugar plantation on the island of Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean's Lesser Antilles. The property was formerly owned by French Captain Paul De Brissac, who processed sugar cane like everyone else at the time. He constructed a big boiling house, as well as a mill and a still.

The land was owned by John Spooner in 1720, and after several owners, it was purchased by Wade and Abbott in 1901, who transformed the old sugar mill into a cotton ginnery, as sugar had stopped providing its normal high profits by that time. The ginnery was in operation until 1975 when the government bought it.

    • Location: Cayon, Saint Kitts and Nevis
    • Best time to visit Spooner's Ginnery: Tourists can visit this place any time of the year, but May is the best time to visit.

  9. The St. Kitts Eco-Park is a Taiwan-funded greenhouse and garden complex near Sandy Point that aims to teach local youth about sustainable agriculture and horticulture. Glass fiber-reinforced concrete, which is five times harder and three times lighter than regular concrete, is used to construct all of the structures. The greenhouse is 24 meters tall and covers 14,000 square feet, making it the Caribbean's largest greenhouse. It is home to a diverse range of flora, including medicinal herbs from the area, butterfly orchids, and roses.

In addition, a great number of tropical fruit trees are present, and the fruits are sold to the locals. The St. Kitts Eco-Park contains a fascinating plant maze that is shaped like maps of St. Kitts and Taiwan. It's no surprise that the park is dubbed "Little Taiwan" by the locals.

  10. The Circus is a circular traffic junction in the center of Basseterre that was built after the town was destroyed by the "Great Fire" in 1867. Liverpool Row and Fort Street were enlarged in the new plan to allow for speedier traffic flow in the event of another fire, as well as to prevent flames from spreading quickly. The Berkeley Memorial, an elegant clock in the center of the Circus, was erected in honor of Thomas Berkeley Hardtman Berkeley, a local senator, and estate owner. Many of the early planted trees were damaged by numerous hurricanes over time, and palm trees were planted around the inner plaza, which was subsequently paved.

The Circus was said to be built to look like London's Piccadilly Circus. The Circus is a center of city activity, notably during various carnivals and other festivals, and four main streets lead from the Circus in the direction of the compass points.
