Fairview Great House & Botanical Garden
Fairview Great House & Botanical Garden is a wonderfully renovated French colonial palace nestled on almost 2 acres of lush tropical landscape at the foot of the luscious Olivees Mountain. The mansion, which dates back to 1701, is open to the public in all its splendor, complete with period furniture and décor, including a magnificent 16-seat mahogany dinner table set with china and silver. According to the docents who accompany tourists, the chaises were made broader to accommodate petticoats. The master bedroom terrace gives stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, the southeast peninsula, and the island of Nevis. The original kitchen, a bathing room, and a fieldstone cellar that is now utilized as a souvenir shop are located across the courtyard from the main house. The mansion's gardens are breathtaking, with thick tropical flora, flowers, birds, and monkeys.
The Great House rooms at Fairview Great House & Botanical Garden are outfitted in the original colonial style, providing a true portrayal of a colonial St. Kitts Great House. Thanks to its lush surroundings, breathtaking views, and magnificent pool, Fairview Great House and Botanical Garden is the ideal destination to spend a day away from the beach.
