St. Kitts Eco-Park
The St. Kitts Eco-Park is a Taiwan-funded greenhouse and garden complex near Sandy Point that aims to teach local youth about sustainable agriculture and horticulture. Glass fiber-reinforced concrete, which is five times harder and three times lighter than regular concrete, is used to construct all of the structures. The greenhouse is 24 meters tall and covers 14,000 square feet, making it the Caribbean's largest greenhouse. It is home to a diverse range of flora, including medicinal herbs from the area, butterfly orchids, and roses.
In addition, a great number of tropical fruit trees are present, and the fruits are sold to the locals. The St. Kitts Eco-Park contains a fascinating plant maze that is shaped like maps of St. Kitts and Taiwan. It's no surprise that the park is dubbed "Little Taiwan" by the locals.
