The United States Military Academy (USMA), usually known as West Point or just the Army, is a four-year United States service academy located in West Point, New York. It was built as a fort because it is on important high land overlooking the Hudson River with a magnificent outlook, 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of New York City. It is the oldest of the five American service academies, and it prepares cadets for commissioning in the United States Army.

The academy was established in 1802, one year after President Thomas Jefferson instructed that plans for its establishment be initiated. The entire central campus is a national landmark, with numerous historic structures, buildings, and monuments. The majority of the Norman-style structures on campus are made of gray and black granite. The campus is a famous tourist destination, complete with a visitor center and the United States Army's oldest museum.

West Point is a medium-sized, highly residential baccalaureate college with a full-time, four-year undergraduate program that focuses on education in the arts, sciences, and professions with no graduate program. Foreign languages, management information systems, history, economics, and mechanical engineering are among the forty-five academic majors available.

The Curtis Institute of Music is a private conservatory in Philadelphia that offers studies leading to a performance certification, Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, or Professional Studies Certificate in Opera. Its purpose is to educate and teach highly gifted young musicians in order for them to engage a local and worldwide audience via the highest degree of creativity. Every student receives a full scholarship.

On October 13, 1924, the Curtis Institute of Music was founded. It realized Mary Louise Curtis Bok's childhood desire of naming it after her father, Cyrus Curtis, an American publisher.

Previously, the institute functioned as a training ground for symphonic players aspiring to join the ranks of the Philadelphia Orchestra, but composers, organists, pianists, guitarists, and vocalists are also offered courses of study. Admission is limited to the number of students required to fill a single orchestra and opera company, with the exception of composers, conductors, pianists, organists, and guitarists. According to U.S. News & World Report figures, the institute has the lowest admission rate of any college or university (4%), making it one of the most selective institutions of higher education in the United States.

South Dakota State Institution, located in Brookings, South Dakota, is a public land-grant research university. It was founded in 1881 and is the state's largest and most comprehensive university, as well as the state's oldest continuously running institution. The City University of New York (CUNY) is in New York City's public university system. The Institution of Central Florida (UCF) is a public research university based in unincorporated Orange County, Florida, northeast of Orlando and south of Oviedo. In addition, UCF has nine smaller regional campuses spread around central Florida. It is a member of the Florida State University System. It now boasts the second-largest student body of any public institution in the United States, with 70,406 students as of the Fall 2021 semester.

The University of the People (UoPeople) is a private, non-profit online education university. Shai Reshef, an educational entrepreneur, founded the University of the People in January 2009. Even though the institution has no campus owing to its online distance learning orientation, it employs a shared office in California as an admissions office.

Associate and bachelor's degree programs in business administration, computer science, and health science are available, as are master's degree programs in business administration and education. Classes are given by world-class academics who volunteer from prestigious colleges such as NYU and UC Berkeley.

The University of the People does not charge tuition, but students must pay administrative fees to support course evaluations. Although the institution does not participate in federal financial assistance programs, it does give scholarships to qualified students.

Western Michigan University (WMU) is a public research university located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dwight B. Waldo founded the company in 1903. West Virginia Institution (WVU) is a public land-grant research university based in Morgantown, West Virginia.
