Western Michigan University
Western Michigan University (WMU) is a public research university located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dwight B. Waldo founded the company in 1903. It is one of the "R2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity" universities. It offers 147 undergraduate degrees, 73 master's degrees, 30 doctorate degrees, and one specialty degree.
The College of Arts and Sciences, College of Aviation, Haworth College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Fine Arts, and College of Health and Human Services are the seven degree-granting colleges of the university. There is also a Graduate College and the Lee Honors College at the university.
WMU's campuses include more than 1,200 acres (4.9 km2) and house over 150 structures. Western Michigan University has five campuses in and around Kalamazoo:
