50-year-old Appleton Estate

The Appleton Estate, which has been around for 50 years, was released in 2012 to commemorate Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence. The rum is a limited edition and has been aged in oak barrels for 50 years, giving it a decadent flavor. The oak barrels were hand-picked, and today, the 50-year-old Appleton Estate is thought to be the world's oldest rum to be for sale.

To commemorate Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence, 800 bottles were distributed. What you should know is that the bottling of Jamaica's 50-year-old Appleton Estate was planned long before the country gained independence from the British in August 1962.

The rum is of historic caliber due to the special blending techniques used by master blenders. It has a diverse flavor profile that befits its 50-year history of blending. The good news is that it does not contain an excessive amount of tannin. Glencairn Crystal in the United Kingdom produced the 50-year-old Appleton Estate in a crystal decanter. It has the same curvaceous shape as the Appleton's vessels. The cork and brass stopper are gold-plated.
