Abbey Falls
One of the locations to visit in Coorg, Karnataka, especially on the weekends, is Abbey Falls, also known as Jessy Falls (named after a British officer's wife). But back then, it was a dense jungle there. Mr. Neravanda Nanaiah found the waterfall after some time, bought the land from the government, and turned it into the coffee and spice plantation that still surrounds the waterfall today. The distances from Madikeri, Mysore, Mangalore, and Bangalore are 8 km, 122 km, 144 km, and 268 km, respectively.
The Abbey Falls are formed by the confluence of numerous little streams. The waterfall flows across the rugged terrain and eventually reaches a lush coffee estate and spice estate. You can drive up to the plantation's entrance, but you have to walk to get to the waterfalls. The waterfall is situated between spice gardens and trees covered in pepper vines and stocky coffee plants on the upper reaches of the River Kaveri. Just across from the falls, there is a hanging bridge that has been built. During the monsoon season, flow is significantly higher.
