Arasina Makki Falls
The natives refer to the waterfalls as Arisina Makki Falls or Arisina Gundi Falls. The Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary, which can only be reached by trekking for more than 2 KM, has the Arishina Gundi Waterfalls. It falls under the sanctuary's restricted area. To visit this waterfall, visitors must obtain special permission from the local forest department officials. Winter and summer are the best times of year to view this waterfall.
Arishina Gundi Falls is a visual pleasure. Arishina Gundi Falls created a plunge pool that is quite deep. In the center, the depth reaches 30 feet. If you go right after the monsoon, the water force is too strong for you to enter the falls. It is best to avoid this trip during the monsoon season since the final kilometer, which is after the sign that reads "Way to Arishina Gundi Falls", will become exceedingly slick and infested with leeches. It is best to go during the middle of summer (Dec to Feb), when the water is calm. For the non-swimmers, getting to the flowing water is another obstacle. Arishina Gundi's waters, which flow through thick woodlands, are reputed to have therapeutic qualities.
