Shivanasamudra Falls

The Shivanasamudra Falls are located in the Mandya District of the Indian state of Karnataka. On the banks of the Kaveri River, which forms its border with Mandya, one of the first hydroelectric-producing plants in Asia was constructed there in 1902. There is the Shivanasamudra Waterfall on the Kaveri River. The river flows through the rocky gorges and ravines of the Deccan Plateau, forming waterfalls. Visitors can visit this waterfall from July to October because this is the time of year when the flow is the greatest and the scenery is at its most breathtaking.

It's a common misconception that the Shivanasamudra waterfall's left and right sections are referred to as Gaganachukki and Bharachukki, respectively. The distance between the waterfalls at Bharachukki and Gaganachukki is actually a few kilometers. This is due to the fact that a few kilometers to the south, the Kaveri River itself split into western and eastern tributaries. The Bharachukki waterfall is produced by the eastern branch, and the Gaganachukki double waterfall is produced by the western branch. The Gaganachukki waterfall is best viewed from the Shivanasamudra watchtower. From there, the majority of photos of the twin waterfalls were taken. From Darga Hazrath Mardane Gaib, there is another route to Gaganachukki Falls.
