Adidas
Europe's largest manufacturer of sportswear and sports equipment, Adidas was founded in 1949 in Herzogenaurach, Germany by inventor, entrepreneur and shoemaker Adolf "Adi" Dassler.
In 1963, Adidas presented the Santiago Ball to commemorate the FIFA World Cup held in Chile a year earlier. Seven years later, they developed the Adidas Telstar ball designed specifically for the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. This partnership with
FIFA was so successful that the German brand won a contract to manufacture all premium balls for subsequent FIFA World Cup events.
Adidas also produces the official balls for the UEFA Champions League, Europe's premier club competition, and the Tango Sevilla for the Olympic balls for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
