PUMA
Another German sportswear and sports equipment brand, PUMA, was founded in 1948 by Adidas founder's older brother, Rudolf Dassler, a year before Adidas. Puma, a public company since 1986, has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. French luxury group Kering (formerly known as PPR) holds 9,8%, Kering's largest shareholder Groupe Artemis owns 29% of the share capital. Since 1 July 2013, the company has been led by former football professional Bjørn Gulden (chief executive officer).
Competition between the Dassler brothers has become so fierce that both brands exhaust their possibilities and produce higher quality products. High-quality PUMA boots and balls are the best examples of the positive outcome of this debate.
To explain this, LaLiga signed a contract with PUMA to produce the official Spanish domestic league balls for the 2019-20 season after a 23-year partnership with Nike.
