Afro Nation Portugal

Afro Nation Portugal is no doubt the world's biggest afro beats festival and for sure one of the best summer music festivals in Europe. On 1 August 2019, Afro Nation was founded by Obi Asika, and Smade. The event was established as a four-day annual music festival in Portimão, Portugal, till 17 July 2020, the festival began operating as a three-day annual event. Now, the festival is produced by Live Nation, Event Horizon, Smade Entertainment, and Memories of Tomorrow.

Afro Nation Portugal was established to bring together the best African artist in Afrobeats, Hip hop, RnB, Dancehall, Amapiano, Afro House, and more. The festival was nominated in the Best Overseas Festival category at the 2019 UK Festival Awards. Besides Afro Nation Portugal, there are also Afro Nation U.S, Afro Nation Ghana, Afro Nation Puerto Rico, and Afro Nation Mexico.

Afro Nation Portugal is held in Portimão, Portugal. Portimão is the largest city in the western Algarve and is a hub for tourism, leisure, and retail. This is also the perfect destination for lovers of golden sand and glistening sea since the city boasts 125 miles of coastline and an average temperature of 25 degrees in June when the festival is celebrated. Especially, the Praia da Rocha a.k.a ‘Rocky Beach’ is one of the most popular and liveliest beaches in The Algarve making it the perfect home for Afro Nation Portugal.
