Anholt
In Kattegat, between Jutland and Sweden, there is a little island with just approximately 160 people living on an area of roughly 8.5 square miles. The island's name is Anholt, and if you're not familiar with it, there are several reasons why you should be.
Despite its tiny size, the terrain on the Anholt island is quite diverse, with extensive sandy beaches, untamed dune landscapes, thick woodland, and desert parts covered in dense heather. This is Denmark's most isolated society, and the residents have adapted to island life away from the mainland throughout time. Remember that driving a car is not permitted in many areas of the island, so put on your hiking boots!
