Ertholmene

A small archipelago called Ertholmene may be found north of Bornholm. The name of the archipelago comes from the size of the islands, which resemble two little peas. Only two of the archipelago's nine islands are inhabited: Chrisiansø and Frederiksø. The remaining islands are largely made up of rock formations, which add to the archipelago's distinctiveness.

Visitors can traverse a 100-foot-long footbridge to get from Chrisiansø to Frederiksø and return. Because of the remoteness of the islands, it feels like a true time capsule. When you first arrive on the island, you'll see that, in comparison to the rest of Denmark.

The Danes arrived in 1684 and built a castle and naval station to control the sea lanes. These locations provide excellent sightseeing opportunities and are a sight to behold. Another interest in the area is the Lille Tårn tower on Frederiksø, which has information about the island's naval history on exhibit. Store Tårn is another historical landmark that surrounds the island's lighthouse. Visit these islands to relive Denmark's past.
