Rømø
The island of Rømø is located in the center of the Wadden Sea National Park and is particularly well-known for its birdlife. However, birds are not the only species who come here to wade.
During the summer, this lovely island attracts a large number of tourists, who crowd the mile-long sandy beach. On Rømø, you can visit the well-known Lakolk beach or the bustling beach Sonderstrand. These sandy beaches are ideal for sunbathing and swimming in the (frequently) frigid sea.
If you visit Tønder or any of the other towns on Rømø, you will find little comfortable places with unique experiences and local attractions. Try picking your oysters from the Wadden Sea. Watch the unforgettable Black Sun play in Tøndermarsken or go on a historical adventure to Løgumkloster Church, Højer Mill, or the famous place where the golden horns were discovered.
