Archimedean Upper Conservatory Charter School
Archimedean Upper Conservatory is a state-funded public charter school in Miami-Dade County. It was founded in 2008. Its students are chosen through a lottery and do not pay tuition. Fifty percent of its students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, 70 percent are minorities, and 75 percent are of Hispanic origin. AUC is designed to provide its students with a disciplined, balanced, and joyful education of the highest caliber, preparing them for successful passage through the world's best universities and graduate schools.
AUC is one of the most innovative and successful high school programs in the American public school system. It provides a dual-language curriculum to its students. The American Curriculum, which includes core subjects in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science taught in English and is based on the Next Generation Sunshine Standards (NGSSS). The science curriculum at AUC is a "Physics First" program.
