Asia University, Taiwan
Founded in 2001 as Taichung Healthcare and Management University, Asia University, as it has been known since 2005, is widely regarded as one of Taiwan's most renowned higher education schools. It is located around 10 kilometers south of Taichung city center.
Asian University, one of the best universities in Taiwan, provides health and medical science, computer science and electrical engineering, creative design, management, humanities, and social sciences.
It does well when compared to other universities in Asia of comparable age. AU has been recognized for its research output and teaching excellence, among other things.
Taichung, a port city with unique temples, classic cafés and teahouses, and a lower cost of living than many cities in Taiwan, has seen economic growth spurred in part by its successful shoe-making and light industries. It is Taiwan's third most populous city and receives less rainfall than Taipei and Kaohsiung.
AU's campus buildings are well-known in Taiwan for its eco-friendliness and award-winning architecture, which is frequently Greek or Roman in style. AU also owns the Asia Museum of Modern Art, a campus landmark with a striking triangular structure constructed by AU alumni and famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando. It has a number of permanent exhibitions and conducts a variety of activities. Giant artworks can also be found around the remainder of the site. Taiwan is becoming a popular study destination for international students, and those at AU are assured to live in modern dorms and have access to new-build facilities such as a Colosseum-inspired gymnasium and 100-plus student groups. In the future, the university intends to attract more high-quality international students, exhibiting its strong commitment to internationalization.
