Taipei Medical University, the second-best university in Taiwan, was founded in 1960 as Taipei Medical College. The name was changed to Taipei Medical University in 2000.

For the past 60 years, Taipei Medical University has provided healthcare education. Taipei Medical University, Shuang Ho and Hsin Kuo Min hospitals, Wan Fang Medical Center, Taipei Cancer Center, and Taipei Neuroscience Institute are all linked with the university.

China Medical University (CMU), founded in 1958, take third place in our list of the best universities in Taiwan. The university based in Taichung, a city in central Taiwan. It was the first non-profit academic school in Taiwan to provide degree programs in Chinese medicine and pharmacology.

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University is considered one of the best universities in Taiwan. In 2021, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University was formed by the merger of two universities: National Yang-Ming University and National Chiao Tung University.

The institution, founded in 1911 in the Chinese capital of Beijing, was transferred to Hsinchu City in Taiwan in 1956, following the fall of the Kuomintang-led government against the Communist Party in the Chinese Civil War.

The National Taiwan Institution of Science and Technology (NTUST, sometimes referred to as Taiwan Tech) is a technological university in Taipei, Taiwan. Taiwan Tech was founded in 1974 and has grown to become the main institution within Taiwan's technological university system, as well as an international applied research university.

Chang Gung Medical University, founded in 1987, grew to include additional departments during the next decade, eventually becoming Chang Gung University (CGU) in July 1997.

Today, this private institution is divided into three colleges: the College of Medicine, the College of Management, and the College of Engineering, each with its own set of departments. For overseas students, CGU is one of the best universities in Taiwan. Some of these departments have participated in national research initiatives supported by Taiwan's National Science Council and National Institute of Health.

The university campus is located on a 37-hectare tract of land in Taiwan's Taoyuan City's Guishan District.
