ASM International

Formerly known as Advanced Semiconductor Materials International N.V., the Dutch-based multinational corporation ASM (formerly known as ASM International N.V., originally standing for Advanced Semiconductor Materials) focuses on semiconductor wafer processing equipment for the fabrication of semiconductor devices. Products from ASM are utilized in the initial stages of wafer processing at semiconductor fabrication facilities. Atomic layer deposition, epitaxy, chemical vapor deposition, and diffusion are all examples of technologies used by ASM.

Advanced Semiconductor Materials
was formed in 1964 by the late Arthur del Prado (1931-2016). Chuck del Prado, son of company founder Arthur del Prado, served as CEO from 2008 to 2020. Wafer processing processes including as lithography, deposition, ion implantation, single-wafer epitaxy, and, more recently, atomic layer deposition were all pioneered by ASM. Former ASM divisions include semiconductor equipment manufacturers ASML, ASM Pacific Technology (ASMPT), and Besi.

Almere, the Netherlands is home to ASM's headquarters. Almere (the Netherlands), Helsinki (Finland), Leuven (Belgium, next to IMEC), Phoenix (Arizona), Tama (Japan), and Dongtan (South Korea) are all locations where the company conducts research and development. Production is mostly located in Dongtan, South Korea, and Singapore. The United States, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Israel are just some of the places where you can find a sales and service office for ASM.
