Just Eat Takeaway
Delivery Service JustEat.com N.V. is a Dutch international online food ordering and delivery company, formed in 2020 by the merger of Just Eat (London) and Takeaway.com (Amsterdam). Takeaway.com, Lieferando, Thuisbezorgd.nl, Pyszne.pl, and 10bis in Israel are all subsidiaries of the company, as are SkipTheDishes and Menulog, both of which were acquired from Just Eat.
Company acquisitions since the merger include both the U.S.-based Grubhub and the Slovak marketplace Bistro.sk. Across 20 countries, Just Eat Takeaway facilitates the ordering and delivery of food from local restaurants to the homes and offices of hungry clients via their different online and mobile platforms. Likewise, in Brazil and Colombia, the firm works with IFood as a partner.
Takeaway.com merged with UK-based meal delivery business Just Eat in February 2020, with Takeaway.com acquiring all of Just Eat's shares in issue. The merger was approved by the United Kingdom's Competition and Markets Authority on 22 April 2020. Euronext Amsterdam and the London Stock Exchange are both carrying it. Although the firm declared its intention to acquire Grubhub in June 2020 and closed the purchase in 2021, on 20 April 2022, it announced that it was considering selling the company after "barely a year" of ownership.
