Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU)
The Ateneo de Davao University is a prestigious Filipino, Catholic, and Jesuit university established in 1948 by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus. It aspires to set a high quality of academic and spiritual formation in a variety of subjects.
The University is determined to uphold a strong heritage of academic achievement and broader service. It provides a thorough formation that emphasizes the person's holistic growth as an individual (mind and heart) and as a member of the human society. It works hard to fulfill its objective of becoming "stronger in faith" (fortes-in-fide) in the pursuit of God's ultimate destiny. In the spirit of service, the Ateneo community's different schools, colleges, divisions, and departments reach out to local communities and other institutions, carrying out its goal ad majorem Dei gloriam. The Ateneo, via its many formation activities and student-centered initiatives, assists in the formation of young men and women into "persons-for-others" (maging-tao-para-sa-kapwa).
