Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT)
The Institute's history dates back to 1946, when the Iligan City National High School was founded (ICHS). The ICHS was renamed Lanao Technical School (LTS) by the Bureau of Vocational Education (BEV) in 1956. LTS was renamed the Northern Mindanao Institute of Technology (NMIT) by RA 4626 in 1965. This law, however, was not carried out. LTS was incorporated into the MSU System by RA 5363 on July 12, 1968.
The first comprehensive reorganizational plan of the Institute was authorized during the 62nd Meeting of the MSU Board of Regents on March 12, 1975, under BOR Resolution No. 894, Series of 1975. As a result of this approach, the Institute became the MSU System's first independent entity.
MSU-IIT's programs were constantly expanded and refined in the years that followed. It also improved research, infrastructure, and cultural activities.
