Atkins Diet
The Atkins Diet is a low-carb diet created by Dr. Robert Atkins in 1972. This diet is based on the Low Carb weight loss method that allows followers to consume only a small amount of carbs in their meal. Besides, Atkins Diet is a long-term Low Carb diet (reducing the amount of starch absorbed into the body) to get a safe weight loss process and maintain weight for a long time. This diet recommends eating foods high in protein, low in fat, vegetables and limiting or completely cutting out simple carbohydrates like sugar and flour. In short, you can eat foods that are high in protein, high in fat and low in carbs.
Instead of carbs, the Atkins Diet emphasizes protein, vegetables and healthy fats, using the Atkins Food Guide Pyramid to recommend what foods to eat and what not to eat. Basically, the Low Carb Atkins diet has 4 certain phases: Start, Balance Diet, Maintain Weight After Dieting and Maintain Lifetime. In addition to weight loss, the Atkins Diet improves heart health and improves cholesterol levels. Following the Atkins diet can be difficult in the early phases because it severely restricts entire harmful food groups for months and years. People who follow this regimen have lower success rates than short-term diets.
