SlimFast Diet

SlimFast Diet appeared and developed since 1977, is a weight loss plan based on smoothies and snack bars developed by the company. Smoothies come in the usual variety, mostly low in sugar and high in protein, while snacks contain 100 calories per product. Snacks can be SlimFast branded snacks, fresh fruits, vegetables or some nuts. Your third meal of the day, called the "reasonable meal," will contain between 500 and 600 calories. SlimFast is the best choice for people who need to lose about 20 pounds, this process will take 8 to 10 weeks.


Following SlimFast's 1-2-3 plan means you have to eat 1 reasonable meal, 2 replacement meals and 3 snacks daily. Women are encouraged to consume about 1,200-1,300 calories per day on the SlimFast plan. Men can consume an extra 400 calories per day or can double their calorie intake by drinking milkshakes and adding 200 calorie small meals throughout the day. As a meal replacement diet, the SlimFast Diet does not meet the USDA's definition of a healthy eating plan because it replaces whole foods with milkshakes that contain artificial ingredients and added sugars. This diet has helped many people lose weight quickly, but it is not a long-term weight loss solution or a sustainable diet. The Slimfast Diet does not teach important skills needed for long-term weight loss, such as planning and preparing healthy meals.
