Avatar: The Last Airbender
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American animated television series created by Nickelodeon Animation Studios. It is also known as Avatar: The Legend of Aang in some regions. From February 2005 until July 2008, it aired on Nickelodeon for three seasons.
Avatar is set in an Asiatic-inspired universe where certain people may telekinetically manipulate one of the four classical elements—water, earth, fire, or air—through Chinese martial arts-inspired disciplines known as "bending." The series follows twelve-year-old Aang, the current Avatar and only survivor of his nation, the Air Nomads, as well as his companions Katara, Sokka, and later Toph, in their quest to put a stop to the Fire Nation's war against the rest of the world. It also follows the story of Zuko, the exiled prince of the Fire Nation, who seeks to recover his lost glory by capturing Aang, followed by his wise uncle Iroh—and later, his ambitious sister Azula—in order to reestablish his lost honor.
