Rocko's Modern Life

Joe Murray created the American animated television series Rocko's Modern Life for Nickelodeon. Rocko, an anthropomorphic Australian immigrant wallaby, and his friends, the eccentric steer Heffer Wolfe, the neurotic turtle Filburt, and Rocko's devoted dog Spunky, star in the series. It takes place in O-Town, a fictitious town.

The network gave the writers a lot of creative flexibility, and they could write for both kids and adults. So Rocko's Modern Life was criticized during (and after) its run for its perceived adult comedy, which frequently used innuendo and sarcasm. The show ran for four seasons and 52 episodes, beginning on September 18, 1993, and ending on November 24, 1996. On August 9, 2019, Netflix published a digital special titled Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling.
