Bare
Bare Snacks (formerly Bare Fruit) originated in 2004 when farmer Eric Strandberg and neighbor Jeff Oberfelder began manufacturing apple crisps from apples harvested on their farms in northern Washington State's Okanogan Valley. According to the company, by the end of 2018, the brand will be in more than 25,000 stores in the world.
Bare is known for its baked chips made from freeze-dried fruits. These delectable sweets come in typical fruit flavors like apple, banana, coconut, strawberry, and pineapple. While these are not your typical chips, Amazon reviews of the pineapple & coconut versions suggest that many people find them to be a good substitute for traditional potato crisps. However, there have been some concerns about the chips being pricey and carrying extra sugar, however many people note that they are kid-approved, which is a significant bonus. Everyone knows how difficult it can be to encourage children to eat fruits, and an item like this may help to alleviate their reluctance.
Nowadays, they also provide a variety of snacks made from simple baked entire fruits and vegetables, which are now widely available around the country. The Bare product line may be useful for some snacking scenarios, but it lacks the salty goodness that we crave when we crave chips.
